DAY 1
Theory
• The peripheral neuro-stimulating effects of HVLA techniques (proprioceptive alterations)
• Overview of applied biomechanics (movement axes and morpho-functional divisions) of the cervical spine, upper thoracic and upper limb
Practical session
• Functional Exercises and drills
• Screening for referral: ruling out the main red flags for cervical manipulative treatment
• Biomechanical assessment tests: understanding and appreciating somatic dysfunction
• HVLA Techniques
– OAA full palm rotation
– Occipital Break
– Mid-cervical Ashmore
– CDJ prone position
– K1 up slip
– Upper Thoracic DOG
– Active shoulder A-P
– Clavicle A-P
– Shoulder complex adjustment
– Upper Thoracic DOG
• Application methodology for specific pathologies: cervicobrachialgia, cervical disc disease, cervicogenic headaches.
DAY 2
Theory
• Overview of applied biomechanics of the mid/lower thoracic spine, lumbar spine and pelvic system (movement axes and morpho-functional divisions)
Practical session
• Functional Exercises and drills
• Screening for referral: ruling out the main red flags for thoracic, lumbar and pelvic manipulative treatment
• Biomechanical assessment tests: understanding and appreciating somatic dysfunction
• HVLA Techniques
– Radius P-A
– Wrist adjustment
– Thoracic Double palm contact
– Classic Mid-thoracic DOG
– Dynamic DOG for T-L
– Dropped Lumbar Roll
– Lumbar Side posture
– Sacral Toggle
• Application methodology for specific pathologies: Maigne’s Syndrome, lumbar disc disease, epicondylitis/epitrochleitis.
DAY 3
Theory
• Overview of applied biomechanics of the lower limb (movement axes and morpho-functional divisions)
• Screening for referral: ruling out the main red flags for thoracic, lumbar and pelvic manipulative treatment
Practical session
• Long lever hip traction
– SIJ side Roll
– Knee adjustment
– Ankle distraction
– Fibula’s head P-A
– Cuboid whip
– Navicular drop
– Hook lumbar Drop
• Application methodology for specific pathologies: plantar fasciitis, knee pain
